Veterans Health Benefits Seminar
American Legion Post #10
Marion, Indiana

Shortly after our 3rd Annual Seminar in Speedway, Tresa Baker, Special Assistant to Congressman Dan Burton, asked if we would be willing to hold a Veterans Health Benefits Seminar more strategically located within the 5th Congressional District.   We concluded that we could successfully hold a seminar and selected American Legion Post #10 in Marion as the venue.

Not enough good things can be said about the Herculean effort the Post Commander Steve Oser and 2d Vice Commander Phil Turner along with SAL 2d Vice Commander Larry Holt put into making the hall ready for a very successful morning.

They set up 340 chairs Sunday night, but by 0830 Monday morning it was obvious that they would need to squeeze in another 100 folks - many of them SRO. The headcount was finalized at 422.

A special word of thanks goes out to Jack Middleton and Josh Gillespie of Dan Burton's Indianapolis Office.  They were instrumental in getting the 275+ cars, trucks and vans parked that filled the lot (and lawn!).  Seminar guests were able to make their way inside in a timely and efficient manner.  Kudos, guys!

You can read the letter of thanks from Rep. Burton here, and the article that appeared in the Marion Chronicle-Tribune the next day, here.
